Obituary of Sylvia L Pocino
Sylvia L. Pocino, 88 of Hamilton, N.J. passed, peacefully, on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
Born in Ash, N.C., Sylvia has resided in the Trenton area for over 70 years.
Predeceased by her parents Lester Gore and Letha Carlisle Gore, her husband Richard Pocino, Sr., brother London Gore, brother’s-in-law Vincent Pocino, Billy Gurganus, Elwood Richardson, sister’s-in-law Lois Gore, Ellen Gore, Marie Sapio and Eleanor Pocino, nephew’s Harry Bradshaw, Kenny Richardson and Earl Richardson and beloved family friend Doris Thompson.
She is survived by her sons and daughter’s-in-law Vincent Pocino (Marina), Kevin Pocino (Holly) and Rick Pocino (Melissa), her sister Lena Mae Gurganus, brother Lou Gore, sister’s-in-law Mary Gore and Carmella Richardson, her loving grandchildren Conor Pocino, Ciara Kerney (Dylan), Brian Burk and Nicholas Burk, nieces and nephews Ann Abbott, Susan Gurganus, Robin Farmer (Tracy), Ginger Clark (Mike), Bonnie Winston, Carol Bradshaw, Kathy Rosidivito, Larry Pocino, Christina Gore, Elizabeth McCaskell (Ryan), Chris Gore, Chad Gore, Brian Richardson, Patricia Hayden, Scott Richardson and several great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews and extended family members Tommy and Sally Cole. Sylvia also leaves behind many cherished friends.
Sylvia was a wonderful homemaker, Mom, friend and neighbor. She truly enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling home to be with her family in North Carolina as often as possible. Syl had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and loved her house plants. She found great enjoyment in feeding and watching the birds and many animals that were regulars in her back yard.
Friends and family may call Sunday, January 30 between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingston and Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08610 www.kingstonkemp.com. Interment will be private at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in North Hanover Township, N.J.
