Obituary of Deborah S. Mapps

Please share a memory of Deborah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Deborah S. Mapps, 67, of Runnemede, passed peacefully on August 3, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, she spent her life in New Jersey; her formative years in Hamilton, raised her family in Princeton, and settled in Runnemede.
Debbie was a graduate of Hamilton High West (Class of 1975), where she met the love of her life, Harry, and made many life-long friendships. She strived to make life better for anyone and everyone who came into her life, and she did. She truly gave her whole heart to her family and friends, and above all, cherished simply spending time with them. She believed that staying connected with family was truly invaluable. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing that she is shining down on us and the memories that were created will last an eternity.
Debbie loved being by the water and would not miss a sunrise or a sunset. She loved being with and celebrating her friends and family ; watching Hallmark with her daughter and grand-daughter, playing Ping-Pong and Rummikub with her grand-children, daily chats and going to the park with her Sissy, going to the beach with her brother, lunching with her niece, daily talks with her daughter in law, using anything and everything as a tri-pod for pictures, Peddler’s village at Christmas with the family, Pinocle, wineries, meals and short getaways with her friends, cheering on the Phillies and the Cowboys, and simply spending time in the backyard with everyone she loved (including the pups).

She could truly make any house a home, and had a way of making everyone feel like family.
She spent the last 50 years side by side with her best-friend and husband Harry, they took on the world together and were a true example of partnership and unconditional love. They were inseparable and never let a day go by without expressing their love for one another.
Debbie was the devoted wife of Harry R Mapps, loving and supportive Mother to Kyle Mapps, Jeffery and his wife Cheryl Mapps, and Heather Mapps, adored Grandmom to her grandson Michael and granddaughter Aubrey, cherished Nana to her step grandsons Jerry and Joseph Patrick, and beloved dog mom to Desmond and Molly. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard and his wife Suzanne Bender, William Stroud; her sister, Janet and husband Roland Saxton; sister in laws Beverly Kiefer, Nancy Bender; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, grand puppies, and countless great friends.
She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Alice Bender; Sister of the late Gary and Larry Bender.
