Robert A. Soden, 85, of Hamilton, NJ passed away on July 28, 2024 at Capital Regional Medical Center, Trenton, NJ.
Born in Trenton, Bob grew up in Yardville Heights, NJ on Soden Drive and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1957. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Coast Guard and was honorably discharged in 1963. Robert founded Triple 5 Industries in Yardville where he designed and manufactured Acoustic Monitoring Systems which are deployed worldwide and many are still in service today.
Bob was an avid remote control airplane builder and flyer, was a member of the Mercer County Radio Control Society (MCRCS) and would often bring his children with him to the field to fly the planes with him. He received his private pilot’s license and, later, became an instructor. He loved flying across the country in his plane call sign N75555. Bob loved running and participated in many Marathons and Triathlons across the country. His family would often travel with him to cheer him on. He started Pilates at age 70 and, at age 79, successfully completed the Lolita’s Legacy Program and was the oldest graduate of the program. He was a Pilates instructor at the YMCA in Hamilton.
Bob was a humble man with a great sense of humor. He was dedicated to his family, friends and employees and will be missed by all who knew him.
Son of the late Arthur Thomas and Edna Mae Klink Soden, brother of the late Patricia Whaley and Edward L. Soden, who was killed in action over Germany during WWII, and father of the late Mark R. and Jennifer L. Soden, he is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Liesl (Marianne) Kraus Soden, his daughter and son-in-law Pam and Nick Grigas, his son and daughter-in-law Edward and Cathy Soden, his grandchildren Christina (Matt), Madison, Marc, Kiersten and Kaylee, his great-grandchildren Miles and Sophie, his brother-in-law Erich Kraus, his sister-in-law Suzanne Repko and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 11 AM at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ (KingstonandKemp.com).
Interment will follow at Princeton Memorial Park, 403 Gordon Road, Robbinsville, NJ.
Relatives and friends may visit on Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home.
