Obituary of Richard J. Lind

Richard J. Lind, formerly of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on June 9, 2024 at Juniper at Hamilton in Hamilton, NJ where he resided for the past 2 1|2 years and was affectionately known as “Uncle Dick”.
He was the loving husband of Mary (Mount) Lind who passed away in 2013.
He attended Holy Angels Grammar School, Trenton Catholic Boys High School and Rider University.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.
He was employed by Monroe Business Systems for 41 years where he retired as District Manager of the Allentown operation.
He was a member of Serra International for 60 years serving in many different capacities as President, Vice President and Trustee and was founder of the Serra Club of Bethlehem.
He served on the Board of Trustees of the Newman Foundation at Lehigh University.
He was a member of Saucon Valley Country Club.
He was a member of the Development Advisory Board of the Sister’s of St. Joseph, Chestnut Hill, Pa. He founded the Sister’s of St. Joseph Golf Classic and, along with Mary, chaired many other fundraising events for them, which raised approximately $15,000,000 for their work with the poor and retirement fund.
He was born on April 18, 1926 to John and Mary (Slavenak) Lind and was predeceased by his sister, Marie Watkin and her husband, Joseph, and their sons, Robert and Richard.
He is survived by his niece, Barbara and her husband Vince Ardery, their daughters Beth and her husband Sean Fitzpatrick, Kelly and her husband Chris Nitti, and their son Vincent Ardery. Also their grandchildren Devon, Drew, Brynn and Cameron Fitzpatrick and Jordan and Braedan Nitti; nieces Edine and Terry Heinig, Erica and David Kardelis and nephew Eric and wife Dana Blazevic; cousins Tom Kennel and Bill Zeis; and very special friends Sr. Christine Konopelski, Sr. Mary McFadden, Sr. Madeline Franz and many other Sisters of St. Joseph whose lives were touched by him.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11:30 AM at The Church of the Sacred Heart, 343 S. Broad St., Trenton, NJ.
Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ.
Relatives and friends may visit on Saturday from 10 to 11:30 AM at The Church of the Sacred Heart.
