Thomas W. Dragert, 69, passed away at his home on April 23rd, 2024, with his loving wife and son by his side. Tom is the son of the late Doris Dragert and Stepfather Robert Doris, brother of the late Robert Dragert, son-in-law to the late Bud James and brother-in-law to the late Dominic Anepete. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Susan Dragert, their son Kevin, his brother Bruce Dragert and his wife Karen Dragert, their son Kyle Dragert and daughter-in-law Katie, his sister Karen Smith and her family, niece Jennifer Dragert, his cousins Fran LaPierre and John Spyra and his wife Jackie, his mother-in law, Doris James; three sisters-in-law, Karen and her husband, John Folis, their sons Michael and Matt and Elena Folis, Donna Anepete, and Diane James, his beloved dog Buddy, and numerous dear friends. Born in Hamilton, NJ, Tom was a lifelong area resident. Tom graduated from Steinert High School in 1973 and earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Mercer County Community College. While earning his degree, Tom volunteered as an EMT at Rusling Hose. Following his call to serve the community, Tom became a policeman for the Hamilton Township Police Department in 1978, retiring as a Captain in 2013. Tom was a devoted and loving husband and father who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and friends. He loved attending family parties, his son’s baseball games and yearly vacations to Ocean City, NJ and the Outer Banks, NC. Tom also enjoyed fishing trips with his father-in-law Bud, brother Bruce, friends Cliff Cicogna Sr. and Mike Fisher. Later in life, Tom found his passion riding his light blue Harley in Florida every winter with good friends JR Dolina and Buddy Nalbone. After returning home, Tom enjoyed getting together with Ron Mapps and “the guys” for breakfast every week, and monthly with fellow retired Hamilton policemen. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 11 AM at The Church of St. Anthony, 626 S. Olden Ave., Hamilton, NJ. Private cremation will follow. Relatives and friends may visit on Monday from 9 to 11 AM at The church of St. Anthony.
