Clara Schaffer, 98, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Hamilton Grove, Hamilton, NJ. Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a lifelong area resident. Clara attended Trenton schools, was a receptionist at Helene Fuld Hospital (Capital Health Regional Medical Center), Trenton, NJ and was a member of St. Raphael’s Holy Angels Parish, Hamilton, NJ. Daughter of the late Sophie and John Chmiel, wife of the late Leonard F. Schaffer, Sr., mother of the late Leonard F. Schaffer, Jr. and John A. Schaffer and grandmother of the late Jeremy Schaffer, she is survived by her daughter-in-law Cynthia Schaffer, her grandchildren Christopher Schaffer, Rachel Schaffer, Molly (Edward) Kopera and Luke (Stephanie) Schaffer, her great-grandchildren Nicholas and Landon Schaffer, Kate and John Kopera and Zoe Schaffer, her granddaughter-in-law Cathryn Schaffer, her niece Beverly Regan and the families of her great-nieces Amanda and Stephanie. Clara was dedicated to her family, at every stage, throughout her whole lifetime. She enjoyed being present at holiday, school, sports, recital, concert, and all family events. Clara always showed up! She especially enjoyed gardening (her roses continue to thrive), traveling, dining out and attending church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Raphael’s Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton, NJ. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton, NJ. Relatives and friends may visit on Wednesday from 9 to 10 AM at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ (KingstonandKemp.com).
