John "Horse" Astore passed away on August 22, 2023. John was born in Trenton, NJ on November 15, 1961. Throughout his life, he was passionate about soccer and was the goalie in countless championships at Hamilton West, Mercer County College, and GAK. John was known to have a vibrant personality, especially in his earlier years. His smile had the ability to brighten up a room. He had a deep love for his daughter and his family, and always made sure everyone was having a good time. His history of playing soccer and supporting the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, and New York Rangers further reflected his love of sports and competitive spirit. John is survived by his daughter, Toni Lynn Byrd (Joe) his father, Anthony Astore; his sister, Cindy Astore; his brother, Steven Astore; his nieces, Lori Astore, Rachel Astore, and Cori Astore; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. John was preceded in death by his beloved mother and brother, Rose Marie Astore and Anthony Astore Jr. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service in honor of John on Sunday, September 10, from 11AM-1PM at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home in Hamilton, NJ.
