Margaret J. "Jackie" Gerber, 80 of Hamilton, NJ passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, peacefully, at Preferred Care, Hamilton, NJ. Born and raised in Hamilton, NJ, Jackie was retired from Johnson and Johnson, Raritan, NJ. She enjoyed summer vacations at LBI and Disney and hunting and fishing with her family and friends. Being an avid trap shooter and member of the Over & Under Club Jackie was nicknamed "Annie Oakley" by her family after winning the Pennsylvania Women’s Open Championship in 1987 by hitting 96 of 100 targets, the first of several awards. She was also a member of the German Shorthaired Pointer club and enjoyed showing her beloved dogs Shortstop and Trace. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was involved in the Alter Rosary at St Gregory the Great Church. Daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Rolnick) Vrancik, wife of late William E Gerber Jr for 54 years, and grandmother of the late Erica Lynn Cardone, She is survived by her daughter Mary "Susan" Cardone and son in law Gary of Whiting, NJ, her grandson Andrew J Cardone of Freehold, NJ , daughter Deborah Thomeier and son in law Joe, grandson Jason Vandegrift and wife Jessica, and great grandson Damian of Virginia, granddaughter Jennifer Vandegrift and great grandson Anthony and great granddaughter Brianna of South Carolina. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at St. Gregory the Great Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Sq., NJ. Interment of cremated remains will follow at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org).
