Bob proudly served during World War II and the Korean War in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1954. While working full-time, Robert put himself through college at various schools, eventually earning his Bachelor degree in Business from Thomas Edison State College in 1983. Bob was an active member of the VFW and Knights of Columbus. His career at Bendix in Teterboro progressed from stock room supervisor to Senior Contracts Administrator in Flight Systems Division of Allied-Signal Corporation, retiring in 1989. After retirement, he and his late wife “Trudy” moved to Toms River in 1992. Robert loved history, travel, dancing, music, swimming, being an active Dad to his three sons, vacationing at the Jersey shore, military history and memorabilia, and hosting family get-togethers.
Robert was greeted in Heaven by his wife Trudy, his son Timothy, his parents Evelyn and Joseph, and his sisters Edith and Violet. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Patricia, his grandchildren Jennifer and Robert, his son Todd and his wife Linda, his son Terence and his companion Leona, his grandson Joseph and his companion Jenna, seven nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Roberts family extends gratitude to his devoted aides Timekoe, Marsha, Gohi, Bola and Melissa, whose service allowed Robert to live independently, at home, for many years.
