Obituary of Virginia Baur
Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Virginia Baur, 79, who was the quintessential nurturer throughout her life, passed away on March 29, 2023.
Whether it was for her family, her garden or her community, she was always caring for others.
Virginia was born on the family farm in Strasburg, ND to her parents Bernhardt and Barbara (Wald) Lauinger. Growing up on a farm, she learned the values of hard work and perseverance. She was a wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family. She created a warm and loving home which, early on, included a number of memorable places before settling in New Jersey. Blessed with a green thumb, she enjoyed working with house plants and in her garden. She was very creative and had a love for baking and sewing. She delighted in her children and, in her later years, found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved to decorate during the Christmas season by transforming her home into a winter wonderland. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren marvel at all the lights and decorations. She was a person who loved to laugh and her grandchildren cherished her silliness. Once her children grew older, she worked as a restaurant server and volunteered at a local food pantry.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Armando, and her siblings, baby Konrad (infant), Joseph (Betsy), Erven, Evangeline, Tillie, Conrad (Rose), Tony (Trudy), Elizabeth and Baldwin (Grace). She is survived by her children, JJ (Pamela) Baur, Rudolf Baur and Brigitte (Joseph) Palumbo, and her grandchildren Ryan (Sarah) Baur, Sean Baur, Elizabeth Baur, Joseph Palumbo, Jr., and Alexander Palumbo, and many nieces and nephews.
